This has been Lemon Drop’s favorite toy as of recent…
A helium balloon tied to his leg – take a look! (the only catch is you have to watch it sideways :p) …
It is an awesome way to keep him entertained during the day and it is a great skill-builder! He is learning how moving his legs affect objects around him. Sometimes I would move the balloon for him but it was obvious that he was much more satisfied when he moved it himself. I which switch the balloon from one foot to the other so he would have to figure out which leg the balloon was tied to.
NOTE:If you want to try this with your child, please, PLEASE never leave the baby/child unattended!! Especially with the balloon string! Also, be sure you do not tie the string to tight around the ankle. I kept it very loose so that eventually he would kick it off his foot and see it float away to the ceiling and then I would bring it back for him. Also, make sure balloon is not completely filled and that baby does not “catch” the balloon to limit the chances of the balloon popping (Broken balloon pieces are choking hazards and th lound sound may scare baby).
